The Call of Love

O liquid temptress beneath the azure sky,
Your gilded expanse calls me, calls me,
For I would sail ever on,
Were it not for the elven waid,
Who calls me, calls me.

She binds my heart with a lily white tie.
Never to be broken, save by the sea,
Ever to be torn between the trees and the waves.
And I travel for ever, ever.
To reach the elven maid who lies,
Beyond the liquid temptress, the Sea.

The elven maid in beauty basks,
Her eyes as blue as the liquid sea.
Her lush as the foamy tide,
And Lips as red as the river of blood
She calls me, calls me
She breaks the enchanting tempt of the sea,
And calls me to the elven land.

Her voice awakens the fallow land,
And fills my heart of joy, unearthly
Which thwarts the calling of the sea.

O liquid temptress beneath the azure sky,
Your gilded expanse calls me, calls me,
For I would sail ever on,
Were it not for the elven waid,
Who calls me, calls me.

  1. This sounds suspiciously familiar to a poem from Eragon, by Christopher Paolini.

  2. Of all the poems you could have ripped off, I think it's really sad that you chose that one. Paolini's poem was crap in its original form, and you haven't dramatically improved it.

Also, cite your sources. Intellectual theft is still theft.

  4. No wonder I can't teach my students not to steal from other people's work. It seems some teachers don't know it themselves...And stealing from Paolini...One must be really terribly desperate to do that...

  6. It's an Indian thing. I noticed they think they can copy anything without sourcing. For proof just watch almost any Bollywood movie.
